Louis Vuitton unveils the new “VOLTA” Bag and New Summer 2015 Monogram Collections

Louis-Vuitton-Summer-2015-Monogram-Bags

Kidding aside, those snobbish “Louis Vuitton is a brand for secretaries” brouhaha that originated from China (the land of all things fake!) may now rest in peace. It’s now chic bites the dust, after all, the Kelly bag ran out of style before we could even mutter Birkin!

Louis Vuitton is back with a big bang! The brand announces on twitter and shared some snaps of its latest offering for Spring/Summer 2015 with the new Monogram collections inspired by the classic 1965 ads. The luxury company, under the baton of its creative director, Nicolas Ghesquiere, released a series of bags in two new prints. It includes the simple V in either pink or turquoise and Ramage print, which is a bright and swirling in shades of pink and orange.

The bag comes in four colors in its single size and retails for $4,300.

Sandra Bullock named People Magazine’s 2015 “World’s Most Beautiful Woman”

courtesy: People

courtesy: People

It takes a lot of guts, talent and a charming personality to be “America’s Sweetheart”. And Sandra Bullock is the sum of all things beautiful, having anointed by People Magazine as the most beautiful woman in the world for 2015.

The Oscar-winning actress (and the highest paid actress in Hollywood…and the world!) has joined the ranks of many actresses who claimed the title including last year’s cover girl and Oscar winner, Lupita Nyong’o, and Gwyneth Paltrow in 2013.

sandra-bullock-people-most-beautiful

Bullock, at 50 years old, is the oldest to be named on the list and proves that age is nothing but a number. She was photographed on the cover  by Cliff Watts and dismiss the whole process of being named the most beautiful as “ridiculous” and that true beauty is unassuming.

“Real beauty is quiet. Especially in this town, it’s just so hard not to say, ‘Oh, I need to look like that,’ “ she told People. “No, be a good person; be a good mom; do a good job with the lunch; let someone cut in front of you who looks like they’re in a bigger hurry. The people I find most beautiful are the ones who aren’t trying.”

Marion Cotillard goes futuristic chic for her latest Lady Dior Campaign!

Marion Cotillard stars in the 2015 advertising campaign for Lady Dior.

Marion Cotillard never had a bad fashion moment! The Academy-award winning actress reprises her role as the face of Lady Dior for the brand’s latest campaign for Spring 2015. The stunning photographs were captured by Peter Lindbergh and feature a futuristic theme as she models the brand’s new Lady Dior bag- showcasing a chic, structured design that features kitschy Dior hardware on the handle.

The French actress has been the face of Lady Dior handbags – a one-time favorite of Princess Diana – since 2008. Since becoming a brand ambassador, Marion’s been particularly faithful to Dior on the red carpet- wearing only the iconic house’s couture creations for the most high-profile events.

She has been the face of Lady Dior since 2008.

In a more exciting news, WWD reports that the star is partnering with Chopard on a collection of sustainable jewelry, which will be the first of its kind for the luxury jewelry brand.

Jennifer Lawrence is naked, and loving the snake!!!

Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Lawrence…

Imagine Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lawrence butt-naked, (with the former showing off her vagina for the world to see) shamelessly trying to “break the internet”, while the latter just wanted the world to know that being naked does not invalidate her privacy (shame to you HACKERS!!). She happens to be the most-searched woman on the planet, the coolest Oscar-winner (like Meryl Streep in her 20’s), and she nonchalantly does nude with a little dignity! Oh, Jennifer Lawrence!

The  photo of the naked actress with a boa constrictor was shot last July, appears on Vanity Fair’s Hollywood issue photographed by Patrick Demarchelier, an homage to the 1981 Richard Avedon Vogue portrait of Nastassja Kinski.

“Jennifer has the perfect combination of strength, sexuality, and humor, and, above all, tomboy to pull this off,” says V.F. fashion and style director Jessica Diehl, who styled the shoot. And, we all swooned!

For more with #JenniferLawrence and Hollywood’s biggest stars, the issue is out now!

The grand dame of the award season, The Academy Award nominations were announced Thursday morning (January 15, 2105) in Los Angeles.

Birdman and The Grand Budapest Hotel led this year’s class of Oscar films with nine nominations apiece, including nods for Best Picture and Best Director while the biggest snub was Selma, Ava DuVernay’s moving biopic about Martin Luther King Jr.. The Imitation Game had eight nominations. American Sniper, Clint Eastwood’s movie about Chris Kyle, tied with Richard Linklater’s Boyhood, the movie that took 12 years to make, with six nominations—and Bradley Cooper (surprise! surprise!) nabbed a Best Actor nod, edging out Selma‘s David Oyelowo and Nightcrawler‘s Jake Gyllenhaal (NO!!!).

Marion Cotillard was the biggest surprise for Best Actress category edging out Jennifer Aniston in her brilliant turn in “Cake”. Amy Adams was completely shut-out despite her win at Golden Globes. Julianne Moore is the early favorite with critics praising her flawless performance for “Still Alice”.

Meryl Streep nabbed her 19th nomination, the most nominated actress (and the greatest living actress) in history. With a surprise nomination for Laura Dern as Reese Witherspoon’s mother in “Wild”, Patricia Arquette remains to be the clear favorite to win the golden statue.

Lupita Nyong’o is 2014’s red-carpet queen!

credit: lancome

credit: lancome

In less than a year, Lupita Nyong’o has achieved what many Hollywood newcomers been dreaming about. She won an Oscar for best-supporting actress in “12 Years a Slave”, starred in a fashion campaign for Miu Miu, named world’s most beautiful person of 2014 by People magazine, and landed a major beauty contract with cosmetic giant, Lancome. A major fete for the Mexican-Kenyan actress, who once worked as a production assistant for many Hollywood films.

After graduating from Yale School of Drama in 2012, she auditioned for Steve Mcqueen’s historical drama, in a role that catapulted her to superstardom and became one of Hollywood’s hottest properties.

Her red-carpet appearances stunned everyone and she has become a style icon virtually overnight, earning a spot on just about every best dressed list on the planet. And we couldn’t agree more.

Sorry Kim Kardashian, breaking the internet is such a pathetic ambition. Style-wise, no one has done it like Lupita Nyong’o.

Take a peek at Lupita’sgreatest fashion moments:

Sienna Miller covers Vogue, and tells us Why She’ll Never Be on Twitter.

january-cover-lines-sienna-miller

Sienna Miller is the former it-girl everyone loved to hate. She is the arch-nemesis of Kate Moss when it comes to setting new trends, and one of the world’s most copied style icons.

The British actress graces the January 2015 issue of American Vogue- she talks about the joys of motherhood, her strings of high-profile movies, how she found Instagram “addictive” and why she will never be on Twitter.sienna-miller-january-2015-3

The fashion superstar adores being a mother to two-year-old Marlowe – her daughter with partner Tom Sturridge – and says she realised what was missing from her life when the little girl was born.

Sienna said: “I was overwhelmed by how normal it felt. It was like, ‘There you are — that’s what I have been missing.’ Like we’re both in on something only we know. An amazing sense of being complicit with a little being.”

Sienna Miller has been in a relationship with Tom, 29, for three years and the 32-year-old beauty loves the fact there is no “drama” in their lives.

She told Vogue: “Tom is a grounded, intelligent, kind, and intact person. That’s amazing to be around. That’s the father of my child. There’s no drama.”

sienna-miller-january-2015-5

On her short-lived affair with Instagram and why she won’t sign-up for Twitter: “It was the most addictive thing,” she says of Instagram. “Every morning I’d wake up and there would be a thousand more followers or whatever and there would be these amazing greetings like ‘Welcome! We love you!’ ” She laughs nervously. “I’d be inflated by this nonexistent, intangible love. I was like, ‘I need to get off this.’ But it only lasted for five days.

Tweeting. I find it weird, that word. It just sounds babyish. There’s something so ridiculous.” she tells Vogue.

The actress appears on Bennett Miller’s wrestling drama Foxcatcher, in which she has a supporting role. American Sniper, a gripping real-life story of the late decorated U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, starring Bradley Cooper as Kyle and directed by the flinty American icon Clint Eastwood. Unfinished Business, a comedy with Vince Vaughn, and the Boston-mobster sagaBlack Mass, with Miller the moll to Johnny Depp’s Whitey Bulger.  Mississippi Grind, with indie auteurs Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, and High-Rise, a J. G. Ballard drama with Jeremy Irons. Miller is also signed on for the upcoming Amazon mystery The Lost City of Z, with Benedict Cumberbatch and Robert Pattinson, and Live by Night, Ben Affleck’s much-anticipated follow-up to his Oscar-winning Argo. -Vogue

Julia Roberts stars in Givenchy Spring 2015 campaign.

1100382

Photography by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

Fancy seeing you, Pretty Woman! Fashion world’s latest icon is no social media star, and she only appears on movie premiere, awards show, and press junket for her movies. But her “smile”, a smile that could put Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa to shame, was prevented from making an appearance from the Givenchy shoot. Creative director, Ricardo Tisci told her, “Because your smile is so beautiful and everybody knows you for that, I think it should be no smile,”. Such is the power of Julia Roberts.

Read the full interview below:

Riccardo Tisci on collaborating with his latest muse Julia Roberts.

How did you decide you wanted to go out to Julia with the request?

I wanted it to be an honest collection, true to myself and true to Givenchy, of course, but more to myself. It was a very pure message. Very black and white. A powerful woman, with sex appeal but at the same time with masculinity, which is my style. And I wanted an honest campaign. Every house has a show—you sell that, of course, but you do have in the shop what are your icons. I always start from my icons. The world is so full of images, so full of everything, if you don’t have an identity, it’s very difficult to find the point of where you want to go. Soon it’s going to be 10 years [that I’m at Givenchy]; I really wanted to shoot my iconic pieces. The first time Julia contacted me to work with me was for the red carpet and she wanted my tuxedo. I thought it would be amazing [to get her] for the campaign. I respect her a lot as a beauty and as a woman. She’s a very intelligent girl. And a very funny girl. Super-funny. And very confident of herself, which is very much my woman, you know like Marina [Abramovic], Mariacarla [Boscono]. I thought it would be difficult because Julia really doesn’t do [campaigns], so I was surprised that she said yes.

What was the shoot like?

It was a very strong day for me. Mert and Marcus were shooting. They both turned around and said, ‘Wow, it’s Julia Roberts.” It was quite strong. She was very professional. Sometimes you shoot someone who’s so popular, you try to make it glam, but I really wanted her the way she arrived: black jacket, men’s shirt, jeans, which is really what we have in common. No hair, no makeup. I said to her, “Because your smile is so beautiful and everybody knows you for that, I think it should be no smile,” and she was really cool. She said we should go for it. We did it, and there we are, I’m very happy. It’s a powerful picture.

How did Julia feel about being makeup-less?

She’s very cool. Of course, she’s conscious of herself. When you’re a well-known designer, you’re paranoid about your looks, so imagine when you’re so well-loved by everybody. She saw the first picture and she liked it, she said because “I can see myself, my real self.” Which was the concept, not to try to make her glamorous. We wanted her more cool, more masculine, more real, more American, if I can say, more urban, more New Yorker. And it was so easy, so fast. The fastest shoot I’ve done in my life. It was a really nice mood on the set, you know, because we’re family, we’re friends. She felt at home—that I think really helped.

Today, celebrity has become so much [about] how many followers you have, how big you are on Facebook. For me, she represents a pure talent and a pure beauty. So many celebrities are celebrities today not because of their talent. That’s fine, it’s the moment today. But she’s an iconic actress.

She succeeded without social media.

It was a moment for me. And it’s strange, because I’m always working with a lot of celebrities. With her it was really special. It’s probably because I grew up with Pretty Woman. In Italy, when it came out, that movie was so big. She became an icon straightaway in Italy. She’s like a Miss America, even without doing so much press. Of course movie press, but not fashion press.

When you choose a celebrity for a campaign, are you thinking about the impact your choice will have globally, or is it more of a personal decision?

It’s more a personal decision. It needs to be very honest. Julia is a big star, but I’ve worked with celebrities who weren’t. Erykah [Badu] disappeared for so long. For me she’s a great artist and she’s going to come out with an album soon, but people had forgotten about her. I didn’t care, because I respect her so much, she’s such a beauty. I’m not into classic beauty. I need to fall in love with the person. People were shocked about Erykah. Isabelle Huppert is famous, but a lot of countries didn’t know her. I don’t mind about that. I really like strong women. And Julia is a strong woman. So it’s not about fame. If it was about fame, I could have friends of mine who I really love [do it]. It’s more about the [model’s] strength as a woman, strength as a man. It’s always very difficult to find a strong man. It’s much easier to find a strong woman.

Who are some strong men for you?

Who’s a strong man? Does it exist? Jay Z is a strong man. Kanye is a strong man. Brad Pitt is a beautiful man, but he’s not a strong man. Obama. I love Obama. Who else? Keanu Reeves is a strong man, even if he disappeared for a bit. There is another one I really like, but someone came before me. Willem Dafoe. I love him, but Prada came before. She was faster than me, Miuccia. When you talk to him, you fall in love.
